About Our Instructors

Debby Hupp

Debby Hupp moved to the valley in 1970. She spent her child hood moving around the United States with a military family. "I learned to sew when I was 13. I needed something to do in my spare time. I bought a pattern and with the neighbors help began a mission. I have sewed many bridesmaid dresses. I have done home dec. Dolls and numerous crafts. I started quilting in 1989. My grandmother was my inspiration. I worked 20 years in the dental field and quilted in my spare time. In 1997 I opened the Quilt Shoppe in Clarkston. I closed in 2003. I still teach quilting and sewing. I do professional machine quilting for the public. I also design a line of patterns. Agnes and I work together in this field of designing. I offer classes through many venues and I also teach out of my home."

Agnes Pomerinke

Agnes Pomerinke, married to Kent 25+ years. Learned to sew as a child. Lived in the valley most of her life. Agnes has been a seamstress, doll maker, crafter and quilter for many years and designs a line of patterns with her partner Debby Hupp. There are not too many things that Agnes has not tried when it comes from the sewing machine. She is always up for a new challenge. She worked at the Quilt Shoppe in Clarkston part time for 5 years. She has taught out of her home as well as in many community venues. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to quilting and sewing. She also knows how to use the computer so well that she teaches others to use programs for quilting and printing. If someone has any questions they can always ask Agnes. If she doesn't know the answer she will direct them to a resource.
